Writing can be fun and rewarding.
But it can also be lonely, hard, and frustrating.
It's difficult for non-writers to "get" the writing
life. They might wonder why you want to write a novel (or a memoir, blog, poetry collection, etc) ... why put in all that work, when you might make very little money from it?
Other writers understand, and they want to cheer you on.
Last May, I opened
Writers' Cafe. Since then, it's become a close-knit, supportive online community of lovely writers.
We've got novelists, bloggers, freelancers, short
story writers, and plenty of people trying their hand at more than one of those.
Some people are just getting started, experimenting with writing prompts and exploring ideas. Others have multiple books under their belt.
Whatever stage you're at with your writing, we'd love to have
you in the Cafe too.
Maybe you've got a big goal for 2025, like finishing a novel. We've got all the support you need:
- Regular live writing hours, where you can join us to boost your focus ... even on tough writing days or through the more tedious bits of
editing!
- Weekly check-ins, where you can share how things are going and what your plans are for the week (great for staying on track).
- Weekly writing prompts, designed to work for stand-alone pieces as well as for works-in-progress.
- A dedicated
feedback space, where you can get supportive, helpful comments on your draft material.
... and lots of other things too! You can find out all about Writers' Cafe here:

In the eight months since Writers' Cafe opened, I've seen members complete novels, land new clients, start new projects, have their best-ever month of blog traffic, get to grips with new writing techniques, and more.
Whatever you're aiming for, we'll be there to cheer you on, help you out, and watch you triumph.
Writers' Cafe is also an incredibly cheap way to get access to me (I'm in and out the Cafe several times a day, I run all the live writing hours, and I'll always respond to your check-in messages!)
Right now, Writers' Cafe costs just $5 for your first month, so you can try the Cafe out for the price of a coffee or two. If you don't find it helpful, just let me know and I'll refund your $5 straight away.
After that, it costs $10/month, with no ongoing contract or commitment.
If you're in the UK like me, you can pay in pounds: £4 for your first month, then £8/month after that.

Or if you've got any questions, just reply to this email. If you're not quite sure whether Writers' Cafe is a good fit for you, let me know a bit about you and your writing, and I'd be very glad to advise.
Happy writing ... and hope to see you in the Cafe,
Ali
P.S. I have a couple of free places available for Writers' Cafe, if you're a student or on a low income. Just let me know and I can
set you up with a spot. The only thing I ask in return is that you let me know if you're no longer using the Cafe, so I can offer the free place to someone else.
