I mentioned Zero to Story when I emailed last week ... if you've been waiting to get your hands on it, here it is:

Or if you'd like to know a bit more about Zero to Story (and the process of writing flash fiction and short stories), just keep reading.
I wrote Zero to Story, a 21-day self-study course, to do two key
things:
- Give writers (at all stages) confidence with all the basics of story writing: structure, characters, dialogue, point of view, etc.
- Guide writers through the process of writing and editing two short pieces of fiction, with practical examples and hands-on exercises for each stage of those stories.
If you're looking to get started (or restarted) with short fiction, I'd suggest you:
#1: See this as a brilliant opportunity to nail aspects of the writing craft. Struggling with dialogue? Write a short story (or a flash piece, e.g. 200 words) that's mostly dialogue. Not sure you can write well in
the first person? Write a short story with a first person narrator.
#2: Read short stories and flash fiction. I had hours of fun re-reading short stories I've loved over the years, and finding new ones to enjoy, while I was pulling together lots of examples to use in Zero to Story. As you read, you'll see how even a very short piece of fiction can make a real impression on
the reader.
#3: Get your hands on Zero to Story. ;-) It's just $10 for the next six days. You can download it and go through it at your own pace: I've structured the course to take 21 days, but if you want to go faster or slower, you absolutely can. (You get all 21 days of the course as a .pdf as soon as you buy it.)

Happy writing,
Ali
P.S. Thinking about writing a novel? The first week of Zero to Story is all about the key elements of fiction (of any length) and the rest of the course builds on
that, so everything you learn will apply to longer projects in the future too.
