Reminder: Writers' Cafe goes up to $20/month after 30th Sept. Join this week and come to our Friday workshop on point of view: aliventures.com/writers-cafe
As of today, there are 100 days left in 2025.
For some reason, that figure surprised me! It feels like the end of the year is fast-approaching, and that ambitious goals
from January just won't happen now ... but 100 days is enough to achieve a lot.
If you wrote an average of:
- 750 words/day ... that's a 75,000 word novel by the end of the year
- 350 words/day ... that's a 35,000 word novella
- 200 words/day ... that's ten 2,000 word short stories
Today also marks the Autumn Equinox in the northern hemisphere. It's the day when the day and night are of equal lengths. You might think of this as a time of balance ... and a chance to reflect on the balance of different elements in your own life.
Does writing deserve to be a bigger part of your life?
What changes could you make this autumn to make more space for writing?
You don't need to overhaul your entire schedule: you
might look for opportunities like:
- An hour one weekday evening
- 15 minutes most evenings
- A lunch break once or twice a week
- An hour or two at the weekend
It might not be possible to get everything in balance all at once ... but even just 15 minutes of writing time, most days, will quickly start to add up.
If you'd like some support over the next 100 days, Writers' Cafe is a great place to be. We've got friendly writers (in all kinds of genres), four weekly writing hours to help you make time for your writing, weekly check-ins to keep you on track ... and our monthly workshop coming up on Friday.
Writers' Cafe
is just $10/month currently, and you can find out all about it here:
