Did you get your copy of the Character Cards that I emailed about on Monday? If not, you can still grab them here:
Character Cards (Aliventures)
(Use File–>Copy to make your own editable copy, or File–>Print to print.)
And ... I've got something extra for you!
I realised that if you're detailing characters for a novel, you're probably doing a bit of thinking about the plot, too.
I've got a template to help. :-)
I'm using this in the next round of
my Finish Your Novel group (we'll go through it in detail in Week 1), but I wanted to give you the basic version for free:
Novel Template (Aliventures)
As with the character cards, just go to File–>Copy to create an editable copy.
You can use it at any stage of the novel-writing process, whether you've just got the kernel of an idea, or you've written several drafts.
Your plot points aren't set in stone ... but having them planned out (and tweaking them as needed, during the writing) will help you keep your whole novel on track.
Happy writing,
Ali
P.S. I'm opening registration for the next round of Finish Your Novel on Monday. We'll be covering novel structure, types of conflict, sympathetic characters, scenes vs chapters, pacing, and getting to "the end" of your novel. If any of that sounds like it might be useful to you, make sure you're on the waiting list:
