If you're a bit short of reading material while Aliventures in on hiatus, I've got good news!
I'm one of the authors taking part in the "Write, Publish, Profit 2.0" stack: a huge collection of ebooks, courses, videos and so on about writing and self-publishing. (All eight of my self-study packs are in there.)
Here it is:
(affiliate link, see below for details on that)
"Write, Publish, Profit" is packed with an impressive amount of stuff from lots of big names in the writing/self-publishing world, and it's well worth a look.
It's $49 for the whole lot (apparently if you bought everything separately at full price, it'd be $5,120.83), so even if you only want a few of the resources, it's probably a good deal.
(My self-study packs are $50 for all eight. If you've been planning to buy them, you're saving a dollar by buying the whole lot and you're getting a ton of extra stuff thrown in too.)
Who's it For?
I'd say it's aimed at authors who've got a bit of experience, but haven't yet self-published a book, or who've self-published a book or two but haven't got the results they wanted.
If you've had a lot of experience with self publishing, you'll probably find most of the contents a little basic ... and if you've not written so much as a short story, you'll probably find it a bit overwhelming!
Should You Buy It?
Well, I get an affiliate commission if you buy "Write, Publish, Profit" via my link (you don't pay anything extra, but the people organising the deal give me a cut of what you spend). So, you might think I'd say, "yes, go for it, and get all your friends to buy it too." ;-)
But I don't want to push you to buy if it's not the right choice for you.
As with all courses, classes, books, subscriptions, and so on, here are my two rules of thumb on whether or not you should buy.
- Can you afford it? If you're struggling to make ends meet, then there are lots of free resources out there. Other deals will come along: don't spend $49 right now if it's going to make it a struggle for you to pay the rent / afford groceries / etc.
- Will you use it? If you've already got a ton of writing-related books on your Kindle or a stack of self-study courses on your computer, I'd suggest working through those first, before paying for something new.
If you want to take a look at what's included, here's the link again:
My honest opinion? There's a lot of value here, and plenty to keep you busy for months to come. If you're looking at self-publishing a book this year or next, or if there are two or three specific resources that you know will be valuable to you, then this is a great deal to go for ... so long as you can afford it without hardship, and so long as you'll set aside time to actually go through those resources.
Happy writing (and self-publishing),
Ali
P.S. The "Write, Publish, Profit" deal ends next week, so you'll want to check it out fairly soon. I'll drop you a reminder nearer the time (and I'll update you on how things are going with my new blog, too).
