My online course On Track is suitable for both fiction and non-fiction writers, and for writers working on short pieces (e.g. short stories, articles, personal essays) as well as writers working on long-term projects (e.g. a novel, a blog or a non-fiction
book).
If you work in several different areas, or have lots of ideas but little progress, don’t worry: during the first week, you’ll have guidance on how to choose which project to focus on during the course.
How On Track Works
On Track is a little different from my other ecourses, as the focus isn’t on what you’re learning but what you’re doing.
During the first two weeks of the course, you’ll choose a single project to focus on, and you’ll take a look at what hasn’t worked too well for you with your writing in the past. (We’ll cover some common issues, and some troubleshooting, here.)
For the next four weeks of the course, you’ll be aiming to meet your own writing target for the week.
During weeks three and four, we’ll also be taking an in-depth look at two crucial aspects of the writing process: planning, and the drafting/redrafting process.
In week five, we'll cover ways to enjoy writing more (because even if there are moments when it all feels like a bit of a slog, you want to be enjoying it most of the time)!
In the final week, we’ll wrap up by looking at ways to keep up the momentum – and we’ll be setting goals for the next four weeks.
The On Track Modules
All the On Track modules are text-based .pdfs, so you can easily access them on any device.
With my other courses, the modules tend to be quite in-depth (normally around 3,500 - 5,000 words).
On Track’s focus, though, is on making sure you have the time to write … so the modules are short and focused (1,000 - 2,000 words). This is why I can keep the price of On Track down to just $30, instead of $60.
Of course, all the modules are yours to keep and go back to whenever you want: once the course finishes, I’ll send you an email with a reminder of the links to all six so you can download them and use them for future reference.
Six Week Course, Plus Four Week Support Period
Like all my online courses, On Track is a structured six week course (with a new module each Monday), with a bonus four week “support period”.
During the support period, you don’t receive new modules – but you do still have full access to the course’s Facebook group, and to me. I’ll continue with the “check in” posts each week during that time so you can share your progress with the group … and of course I’ll be around to answer any questions that crop up.

How to Pay for On Track
On Track is billed through PayPal, in dollars. It doesn’t matter if your local currency isn’t dollars (mine isn’t!) – PayPal will automatically convert the money for you.
You can pay for On Track in a single up-front payment for $30, or, if you prefer, you can pay in six weekly instalments of $5.
(Note: if you've taken the course before, you only pay half price, as the materials haven't changed much.)
